May 2022 - Reflection of the Kukuluaeʻo
45% of proceeds will go bird conservation organiztions.
When it comes to waterbirds Kauaʻi is hard to beat. With no mongoose and far less development than Oʻahu, Kauaʻi has thriving populations of rare and endangered wetland birds. Kukuluaeʻo or aeʻo are no exception. May many wetland areas are closed for the protection of breeding waterbirds like aeʻo, but what a lot of people don't realize is that it is also for our protection. Aeʻo are fierce defenders of their nests and will try to chase away anything they see as a threat.
